Maria Creek Bridge
The project involves demolition of an existing timber bridge in an environmentally sensitive area, piling foundations, construction of a pre-cast girder deck bridge, relocating of services,construction of approaches and bitumen sealing roadway.
Scope of works included:
- Demolition of existing timber bridge
- Excavation of 1500 m³ for bridge approaches, waterways and structures
- Excavation of 150 m³ for cast in situ piles
- 100 metres of 1200mm dia in-situ reinforced concrete piles
- Construction of reinforced concrete abutments and wingwalls
- Supply and erection of 15 precast deck units
- Pouring of pedestrian walkway, relieving slabs and kerbs
- 20 metres of reinforced concrete culverts and associated structures
- 1000 m² of ground treatment under embankment and in subgrade
- Fabrication and erection of 60 metres of guard rails and balustrade
- 250 m² of DG 14 asphalt deck wearing surface
- Relocation of utility services onto the new superstructure
- Line marking of new roadway and erection of road furniture
