Torbanlea Intersection

This project involves 700 metres of pavement widening, strengthening and placement of full depth heavy duty asphalt pavement on the Bruce Highway at the Torbanlea intersection, north of Maryborough. Intersection upgrade and provision of extra turning lanes is also included in the contract.

Scope of works included:

  • 8000 tonne of asphalt
  • 3000 m3 of cement stabilized road base construction
  • 900 m of kerbing and kerbing and channel
  • 4000m3 of road embankment
  • 3000 m2 of rock fill shoulder subgrade replacement
  • 800 m2 of coloured median infill
  • Milling 6000 sq metres and removal of existing pavement
  • 16 new rate 3 street lights
  • 800 metres of electrical conduits and cabling, including under-road boring
  • Upgrading  street, warning and destination signage
  • Upgrading of the Torbanlea turnoff from the Bruce Highway
